HOW DO WE BENEFIT LOCAL GROCERS?

Loop exists to do good things with the food that would otherwise be wasted, and works as a partnership between stores and farms. We work with operations of all sizes - from massive warehouses and production facilities to the mom-and-pop-run corner store. We’d love to hear how your store functions and how we can build our processes around your needs. We require minimal space in-store and will tailor the feed partnership for you.

If you're already working with charities, that’s wonderful! We will always honour the relationships you have worked hard to establish and maintain. Once the charity has received the food products they need, Loop will take 100% of your unsold food products and trim daily.

What comes to Loop:

• Bruised, squishy produce items, all produce trim, degraded salads, corn husks.
• Past date items: anything still in reasonable shape still but not for human consumption.
• Broken packaging, broken cold chain, customer returns.
• Meat trim, bakery ingredients, spilled loose items, broken bags of pet food.
• Seasonal organic items: Christmas trees, pumpkins, watermelons, end-of-season garden center items.

How does it work daily?

• You’ll receive an email with the name of today’s farmer.
• Store associates load shrink into boxes, then keep chilled at display temperature.
• Our Loop farmer comes AFTER charities have taken donation items.
• Farmer picks up Loop load when customer traffic is lower.
• You feel great about feeding local farm animals.
