How Do I Dispose of Meat?

Sometimes a Loop load has more meat than your cats and dogs can use. So, what do you do with the excess?

Don’t toss it in the garbage! There are a couple of options to give it a second life.

Have more than you can use? Share it with another farm! Post in your local Loop Facebook group and see if another farm has cats or dogs that could use the extra meat.

It’s a simple way to help another farmer and keep useful food out of the landfill.

🌱 Compost It

Meat can also be composted, depending on your setup. Research composting methods that work for your farm, and if meat is suitable for your system, bury it deep in the compost pile to help keep unwanted visitors away.
